In the book, teacher preparation makes up a large percentage of the debate. Ripley poses the question: Are educators really prepared to teach students what they truly need to learn?

Feed back is one thing that could drastically improve the success of teachers. In Finland, student teachers receive constant feedback from their peers and superiors. These critiques help them improve their teaching before they even receive their license.
